Company & Vision
The company is focused on accelerating the transition to decentralised, decarbonised, democratised energy micro-grids, where energy is generated close to where it is consumed from clean renewable assets controlled by independent operators rather than utility companies.
Adopting modern methods of off-site construction, we create Net Zero buildings. These generate more (renewable) power than they use, utilising advanced manufactured materials within contemporary designs and integrating smart home technology; all as standard.
We are part of the movement to Build Back Better, which aims to address some ofour structural societal challenges: affordable housing, climate change, employment in growth sectors, training, and education.
We can de-carbonise our built environment and democratise energy supply. Our products, Net Zero homes and our other structural designs generate more energy than they use – in fact, they are energy positive assets, providing the foundation for decentralised energy.
The built environment accounts for over 40% of global carbon emissions and is now the focus of intense environmental pressure. The next generation of buildings will be electric - every dwelling should generate the energy it needs. Communities will be served by local micro-grids: GRID 2.0.
Design & Technology
The in-house design team collaborates with a select handful of exemplary architectural practices to create inspirational, competitively priced, buildable products that generate more energy than they consume. Parametric designs, standardised M&E solutions and BIM streamline the design process and reduce costs without compromising the individuality of the finished product.
The products are bristling with innovative technologies that improve their energy performance and deliver comfort and control to the occupiers and asset owners. Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery, Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps for space and domestic water heating. PV solar panels integrated into the building fabric, an airtight, thermally efficient envelope, and our proprietary Building Management app.
Grid 2.0 is a construction and energy infrastructure business. We create and deliver built assets that integrate the technology that is driving the energy transition: solar PV, batteries, EV charge-points and energy management software.
Off-Site Construction
In order to build houses – homes of the future – we need to adopt modern methods of off-site construction, particularly if we want to deliver affordable homes. This is our aim, to build high quality affordable housing and buildings for wider use, which integrate technology and contemporary designs and, crucially, de-carbonises construction.
We have already proved it can be done, as founders of NetZero Buildings we demonstrated the success of this model in the education sector. We are now doing the same in housing and EV parking infrastructure.
